During the first year, you will become familiar with the fundamentals of engineering design and immerse yourself in mathematics and physics. The accompanying theory is provided to the student in various ways under the guidance of professors and students from older years. The degree is taught in English from day one. In the Master`s programme in Aerospace Engineering, you will have ample opportunity to work on projects and internships around the world, building on the relationships established with Schiphol Airport, the European Space Agency, KLM, Airbus and other aerospace industries and research institutes. It covers avionics systems of individual aircraft, flight control and cockpit design, the environmental impact of aviation, i.e. noise and climate, flight operations and support. Admission requirements for study programs depend on your previous education and the bachelor`s program you have chosen. The deadline to receive your online confirmation statement and full payment is July 1, 2023. In order to arrange all services (visa / residence permit / accommodation / opening a bank account) on time, you must be classified in the fixed capacity before mid-June. The entire visa process can take 4-6 weeks during peak hours. In some unusual circumstances, this process may take even longer. It is therefore in your best interest to meet our requirements in time (preferably before mid-June) so that you arrive in Delft in time for the integration programme. You may need an additional 3-4 weeks to pick up your visa at the Embassy or Consulate General of the Netherlands, as waiting lists for visa appointments are longer in the summer.
The MSc Flight Performance and Propulsion track integrates the knowledge and expertise of various aviation sub-disciplines into conceptual aircraft designs and subsystems that can meet the stringent requirements of the future. A normal course day starts at 08:45 and ends at 17:30. Students spend an average of 30 hours per week at the faculty, with no independent study time. As a general rule, lectures are not compulsory, but most laboratory courses and projects are subject to mandatory participation. Lecturers choose appropriate methods for teaching the material, such as explaining theory in classes, applying theory in small lessons in class, and working with other students in projects. In the second year, the focus will shift from foundational courses to aerospace-specific courses. The basic knowledge of the first year is expanded and applied. However, there are different ways to go abroad, for example with a minor in study abroad or with one of the stays abroad organized by the VSV student association Leonardo da Vinci.
